Complicating the already complex? Readability scores in bladder exstrophy and its treatment

Purpose Classic bladder exstrophy (CBE), is a complex congenital malformation affecting formation of the lower abdominal wall and bladder. This study evaluates readability common online resources regarding CBE its treatment. We hypothesize that high levels reading comprehension are reflected in these resources, which may not be suitable to general population for understanding this condition. Methods The search terms “bladder exstrophy” treatment” were reviewed on Google engine. first 100 results each query collected. webpage was assessed using combination four independent validated formulae: Gunning-Fog index (GFI), SMOG grade (Simple Measure Gobbledygook), Dale-Chall (DCI), Flesch-Kincaid (FKG). Results A total 200 examined two queries, yielding 72 unique webpages fit inclusionary criteria. mean scores across all websites GFI 14.3, score 10, DCI 9.06, FKG 11.6. These correlate adjusted college sophomore, 11th grade, college, respectively. There no significant difference between website categories (p = 0.32), 0.38), 0.33), 0.36). Conclusion demonstrates health information treatment written at least level or above. highlights necessity simplify pertaining CBE.

True Duplicate Bladder Exstrophy

A three months male child was admitted in our department as a rare variant of bladder exstrophy (true duplicate bladder exstrophy). There are only 8 cases of this variant reported in the literature so far, we report an additional case to add the scarce literature.
